Kal, Aaj aur Kal in Hindi!
Kal in Hindi encompasses both yesterday and tomorrow. How strange yet there is so much more meaning to such bundling of these two meanings into one word.
Come to think of it.
Yesterday is all but gone except for memories. What is gone is now no longer in our control. If we have learnt what yesterday's lessons taught us, then we are richer by that much more wisdom to face our tomorrows.
Tomorrow is yet to come and who knows...
Yet tomorrows always come and they do manage to worry us. To an extent, these worries can be minimised by planning ahead for our tomorrows in limited ways, even though we are not too sure of 'the how' and 'the whether' of it but never get discouraged thinking about 'man proposing and God disposing' because we are invariably faced with tomorrows so it is wise to keep aside some time today for planning our 'tomorrow'. It will prove to be a good investment of time after all. Don't forget those insurance policies, those investments of assets, which are always done for the tomorrows of our lives!!
Today is now.
Today is the present.
Today is happening.
Receive it gracefully with both hands and try to live every moment, do what you are paid for, do what you enjoy doing most, help others if you can, ask for help if you have problem in solving issues.
Most important is not to spend too much time in 'rewinding' old painful issues often. Painful issues per se are not bad experiences - I feel they are our way to evolve into better and more understanding beings - it is the 'rewinding often' of such painful, bad, sad memories which is painful and not the event which took place in the past. We have learnt our lessons, become more alert to such events and wisely move on with our routines, everyday life and good karmas/actions. There is an advantage in not succumbing to the temptation to rewind - that saved time is yours to enjoy your present - today!
Today is here and now.
Today you have the control to do or not to do.
Today is a gift. Maybe that is why they called 'Today' by another more appropriate name - Present!
Enjoy and cherish your Present and make the most of today!
Cheers!
Mahalakshmi
