Discipline

Discipline in life has always made that huge difference to people in whatever line of work they have been in.
For some it comes very naturally whether they have been taught by their elders or not. Its inborn in them to be disciplined from early on. some acquire it by seeing or emulating others. On some it is thrust like in boot camps or military camps, etc.

I remember how some praised the South Indian actress Smt.Saroja Devi who used to be very disciplined while reporting for shootings. She would always come with full make-up on and be ready with her dialogues in whichever language she was shooting in. That shows her commitment to her work. That showed the producers and the director that here's one actress who will never let them down for any reason. Discipline of such kind does send many positive signals to so many by such dedicated people. They are trusted and they get work offers more often and this is one of the most important considerations for repeated offers other than the talents or skills they have in their work. Because they can be depended upon to execute their work by maintaining such discipline in their lives.
There are many whom I have seen keeping time for their appointments and work. They have always achieved success sooner than later at their careers.
But the one that I truly admire even now is a very aged maid servant who could be well past her 80s and still works for a Muslim neighbor of ours. She's been with them for over 50 years is what I hear from her. I can set my watch at 7.45am every day if I hear the sound of the broom sweeping away the dead leaves from the mango trees in their yard. Each day of the week, through the years she is there doing her work so sincerely and on time. I salute her for her dedication to her work. She's not earning in thousands or lakhs for doing the top work either. Her commitment to work teaches me to be more disciplined in my own work and life.
These are days where we often hear many discuss whether their servants came to work for the day or not. Many don't come for days on end and for the flimsiest of reasons too!
The actors Balraj sahni and Iftekaar reported for shooting when there were tragedies or loss of life of a near and dear in their families. They showed up for the shooting to show that they should not be the cause for any kind of hold up.
I salute the spirit of these and other disciplined people. Those for whom these dedicated workers toil are indeed the blessed ones!!

Cheers!
God bless.
